Chiefs Confirm Domestic Violence Allegations Connected to Player Rashee Rice
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement on Wednesday evening confirming they are aware of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a former girlfriend of player Rashee Rice and were in communication with the league office.
The organization did not mention Rice specifically in their statement and noted they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.
Allegations Posted on Instagram
Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name Rice directly, posted a set of images on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. Jones did say the individual in question was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has two children with the football player, whom the team drafted in the 2023 draft.

No police reports were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Player's Recent Legal Issues
The receiver missed the initial part of this season following an NFL suspension for his involvement in causing a crash on a Texas roadway that resulted in multiple people hurt. Rice was sentenced 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
On the field, he concluded the year with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Kansas City finished with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
